Our beautiful city retains
a small-town atmosphere with stately Victorian era architecture in its
Historic District and well-kept older homes built before the 1930s. The
housing mixture includes single-family residences, condominiums, and
multi-family complexes. Our "walk to" downtown boasts of old-fashioned
street lamps, benches, specialty shops, galleries, theaters,
restaurants, businesses, and preserved landmarks.
PROPOSED NORTH CENTER STREET
CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT OVERLAY ZONING DISTRICT
The City of Northville Planning
Commission has been studying the North Center Street
corridor over the past few years. The City’s efforts have
examined land use, parking, pedestrian connections,
architecture, and other characteristics of North Center
Street. This work has been summarized in the City’s updated
Master Plan, and the Planning Commission is now focusing
upon the possible creation of an overlay zoning district.
The Planning Commission will be
holding a public information meeting on February 7, 2012 at
7:30pm in the City Hall Council Chambers regarding this
overlay zoning district.
