Public Safety Education
The Department’s Public Safety Education program is overseen by department members who have a commitment to informing the public about fire and life safety issues, especially in the communities we serve.

We attend community events throughout the year with our equipment and in uniform. If you see us at outdoor concerts, athletic events and local festivals, stop by and visit with members of our team. They will be happy to show you the trucks, describe the equipment we carry and its purposes, and provide you with a memento of your visit.

We look forward to welcoming you or your group to one of our stations for a tour, or we can come to your organization’s event. We can assist schools, scouting groups and other community groups with their programming efforts.

If you would like a representative of the department to speak at your organization on topics related to the Fire and EMS services, please contact us to schedule a time.

Each year during Fire Prevention Week in early October, the department hosts a week-long Open House at both Stations 1 and 2, welcoming the community into our facilities for information and items you can use to improve fire safety in your home.

For more information, please call 248-449-9920 for events in Northville, and 734-453-1234 x281 for events in Plymouth. Or for events in either community, contact Chief Samhat by e-mail
