Survey #2 is ready for your input on Master Plan subareas

The Planning Commission invites you to take part in the second survey for the Master Plan update of the Cady St., Racetrack and S. Center St. subareas. The survey is designed to consolidate public input for a shared vision of redevelopment with benefits for the entire community. The subarea update to the Master Plan will allow the City to communicate a desired vision for redevelopment of this part of town to prospective developers.

Your survey response will help Northville prepare for future growth while retaining its unique charm and appeal for residents, businesses, community organizations, and visitors. The survey is open until Jan. 31. If you can’t complete the survey online, please contact the City manager’s office for a paper copy.

Master Plan Virtual Open House Sessions

The Planning Commission hosted virtual open house sessions on redevelopment of the Cady St./Racetrack/S. Center St. sub-areas. After a short presentation, participants worked in small groups to design sub-area plans. The sessions were conducted on Zoom on Sept. 22, 23 and 26.

Survey #1 draws strong responses to Master Plan sub-areas update

At the Sept. 1 Planning Commission online meeting, City Planner Sally Elmiger presented results of the Master Plan sub-areas survey #1, which showed that people want new development that preserves the “small town” ambience of downtown Northville while being able to safely manage higher traffic volumes.
