Final Utility Bills

Information regarding final utility bill balances should be confirmed directly with the Public Works Department, either by email or by phone 248-449-9930.  If you would like to request a final read and bill to be processed, please fill out the online form.


Receive Utility Bill by email


Bills by email are now available to all utility billing customers.  Instead of receiving a bill in the mail, you can receive an email with the bill attached in pdf format. Register and sign up here.

 

Request for Water Status

Information on a property's water status can be obtained from the Public Works Department by email or by phone 248-449-9930.  In the email, please provide the property address and the requesting party's name and contact information.



Special Assessment / Open Invoice Information

Payment Information

The City of Northville offers several options to pay your tax and utility bills without doing so in-person.  You can mail in your payment, use the drop box in front of City Hall or set up autopay, a method of paying electronically from your bank account directly to the city, without incurring a convenience fee.  Please note that payments made by credit card or check have a convenience fee.

Please allow sufficient time for mail delivery to ensure your payment is not late. Postmarks are not accepted.

Online Payments Now Accepted

You can now pay your utility bill online with a credit card or e-check by clicking here.  You will be re-directed to the BS&A Payments website to make a payment.

Fees:  Please note there is a convenience fee paid directly to BS&A if you choose to utilize this option:

  • Credit Cards:  Utility Billing & Misc Payments 2.95% plus $0.50 per transaction
  • Credit Cards:  Taxes 2.8% plus $0.50 per transaction
  • E-Checks:  Flat Fee of $3.00, up to $10,000
                        Flat Fee of $10.00, anything over $10,000
Autopay - Utility Bill

Set up the convenience of autopay for your Utility Bill. With autopay, you can:

  • Save time signing and mailing checks
  • Save money on check fees and stamps
  • Eliminate late payment penalty charges
Your payment is withdrawn from your bank account or charged to your credit card automatically on the due date, so there is no confusion. You will receive a bill at least 14 days before the payment is due.

We offer this service free of charge if funds are withdrawn from your bank account.  There is a convenience fee of $2.95% plus $0.50 per transaction for autopay set up with credit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay.


 

Autopay - Tax Bill
Now you can enjoy the convenience of having your tax bill automatically deducted from your bank account. With the Automatic Payment Plan, you can:

Enroll in the program and your summer tax bill will be paid on August 31st. For the winter tax bill you designate the date of payment as either December 31st or February 14th. By taking advantage of this program, your taxes will always be paid on time whether you are sick or out of town. Added benefits are no checks to write, no need to wonder if the check was received in time to avoid penalty and no trips to City Hall.

Participants in automatic bill payment of property taxes receive their tax bill in the mail on July 1st and December 1st with a letter confirming when the withdrawal will be made from their account.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a year-round program. Electronic Funds Payment is not available for only the summer tax or only the winter tax bill.

Pay In Person
The City offers several options to make payment of your tax and utility bills without being in-person.  Mail, dropbox and autopay by bank account are all encouraged and free.  Electronic payments by credit card or e-check do come with a convenience fee.

All payments placed in drop box after hours will be posted to your account the next business day. The City now has two drop boxes. One is located in the vestibule at the front entrance of City Hall.  The second is a drive-up box in the circle drive in front of City Hall.  Both are emptied on a daily basis, Monday through Friday, expect holidays.
By Phone - Tax Bill
Make eCheck, credit and debit payments with a live agent.  Have your card or bank information and your account number ready for an exceptional payment experience with a BS&A Payments teller.  BS&A Payments is the third-party processor of electronic payments.  Payments over the phone are not with City staff.
