Census Day is April 1, 2020 – Be counted
Posted on 04/01/2020
Census 2020 is easy to complete. The City of Northville encourages everyone in Northville to be counted. April 1, 2020 is the official “count” day – your response must reflect where you are living on that day.

To help spread the word to your family, friends and communities, consider posting (globally) on your social media pages when you’ve completed the census. This will help prompt others to do the same so that everyone living in the United States can be counted.

Census results help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year, and the count impacts the number of seats in Congress allocated to each state.

"The 2020 Census is your census, and its success depends on you. It’s a once-in-a-decade chance to inform how billions of dollars in funding are allocated for critical public services like hospitals and health care clinics, schools and education programs, roads and bridges, and emergency response for the next 10 years," said Census Bureau Director Steven Dillingham.

When you respond to the census, your answers are kept anonymous. They are used only to produce statistics. The U.S. Census Bureau is bound by law to protect your answers and keep them strictly confidential.

Mailings were sent by the Census Bureau to each residence in mid-March with instructions on how to complete the census online, by mail or by phone. If you’ve misplaced the mailing, you can find the same information here: www.my2020census.gov or call the census hotline: 1-844-330-2020.
