The Wayne and Oakland County Health Departments are closely monitoring an outbreak of respiratory illness caused by a new coronavirus called COVID-19. Two total cases have been confirmed in Wayne and Oakland counties as of March 11. The outbreak continues to expand in many countries and new cases are being reported daily in the United States.
Governor Whitmer has declared a state of emergency to maximize efforts to slow the spread of disease.
