The City of Northville proudly recognizes Sylvia Stepien, who has been named both the Northville City Fire Department Station 1 Firefighter of the Year and the Plymouth Rotary NCFD Firefighter of the Year, a well-earned honor celebrating her dedication, leadership, and outstanding service to the community.

Since joining the Northville City Fire Department in May of 2018, Sylvia has exemplified what it means to serve with purpose and heart. From an early age, she knew she wanted a career focused on helping others, and right out of high school she committed herself to the Fire/EMS field. Her work allows her to support residents during their most critical moments while being part of a team built on trust, accountability, and hard work.

Sylvia takes great pride in serving the Northville community and working alongside the men and women of the Fire Department. She values the strong sense of professionalism, pride, and family within the department, as well as the incredible support shown by the community it serves. The community support that makes each day on the job meaningful.

This recognition is especially meaningful to Sylvia, representing the trust her department has placed in her and motivating her to continue leading, serving, and supporting her crew and community at the highest level.

"I’m grateful for the mentorship, teamwork, and support I’ve received from the members of this department," said Slyvia. "No one earns recognition like this alone, and I’m proud to stand alongside such dedicated professionals. This award encourages me to keep learning, growing, and serving Northville to the highest standard."

Congratulations, Sylvia. We’re proud to celebrate you and your accomplishments!
