Dog Licenses

If you own a dog four months or older, you are required to obtain a dog license. The licensing period begins March 1 and extends through Feb. 28.  You will need to complete a Dog License application. In late January, a renewal notice and application will be mailed to the owners of all currently licensed dogs. To  view the Animal Ordinance, click here.

Vaccination Date Requirements

In order to purchase a three-year dog license, your pet's vaccination expiration date must coincide with the date of the dog license when you renew in 2025. For example, in the year 2025 a three-year dog license will have a year of 2027 (three years out). If you wished to purchase a three-year dog license in 2025, then your dog's rabies vaccination expiration date must run through 2027.

Applications may be presented in person at the Clerk’s Office during regular business hours, or may be mailed to 215 W Main Street, with the appropriate fee and proper documentation (including proof of rabies vaccination, and spaying/neutering). All submitted documentation will be returned to the owner along with the new tag.
